Embracing sustainability

We’re committed to being a company that puts Corporate Social Responsibility at the heart of what we do. That’s why we’ve made it a priority to be environmentally conscious wherever we can — from engineering eco-friendly innovations to creating a more sustainable workplace.

Helping housebuilders meet the Future Home Standard

With new government guidelines and water efficiency high on the industry agenda, Bristan Group is here to provide environmentally friendly solutions for your next building project.

Brilliantly economical, our range of Bristan electric showers feed from cold water mains-feed rather than hot water cylinders.  Meaning the water is heated on demand through an integral heater in the shower unit providing an efficient showering solution, that complies with the Future Homes Standard.

Tapping into water saving solutions

As the UK’s leading provider of taps and showers we offer a comprehensive range of water saving solutions including:

1. Water efficient taps and mixers – most are fitted with a flow regulator to help save water in non-domestic applications

2. Flow regulators for showers and bath shower mixers that can reduce flow to as little as 5 litres per minute to help meet water saving regulations.

3. Showerheads with multiple modes to give you the option of water economy or full flow

4. Thermostatic showers, taps and bath shower mixers which maintain consistent temperature and reduce waste of hot water

5. Timed flow controls – both manual and electronic – with different time delays to suit the requirements of the individual

6. Self-closing push button taps designed to meet BREEAM requirements

What’s more, a large selection of our products comply with the UK Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations, meaning you can be confident your specifications are fully compliant with building regulations and byelaws.

Sustainable workplace solutions

It’s not just our products that are eco-friendly; at Bristan Group, we champion sustainability in our workplace too.

At head office, we have made a series of simple yet effective changes to improve our eco credentials. For example, in the canteen, all plastic knives and forks have been replaced with wooden alternatives.  We have also replaced plastic salad bowls with a cardboard alternative.

In addition, we’ve gifted every employee a company branded water bottle and mug before adjusting all drinks machines to allow the use of these items. Not only has this boosted company morale, but it’s ended up saving a total of 9,000 single-use plastic cups per year.
Across HQ, we’ve replaced all lighting to LED.  This alone has resulted in us achieving a 6.9% absolute reduction in our carbon footprint.

Recycling

Bristan Group is proud to be a zero to landfill company. Our specialist waste management company ensures that general waste is mechanically sorted to remove the recyclable materials, while any residual left overs are thermically recovered to produce electricity.

Not only do we recycle all the waste cardboard produced from warehouse operations, but we ensure that all our recycling is turned into usable products, where possible. All of our ceramics waste is crushed and used as non-specification road building materials, while our broken pallets are shredded and used for animal bedding.

With water conservation remaining a top priority, Bristan Group recycles 90% of the water used to carry out endurance testing of products in our UKAS-accredited lab.
