As we enter a period of extended lockdown to protect our NHS, I do hope that you and your families are keeping safe.
At Bristan Group, we remain open for business, operating in line with Government directive to support our customers with the supply of products for essential projects.
In doing this, we are working hard to make sure that our people are as safe as they can be and are regularly reviewing health and safety measures.
To protect employees, we have taken the decision to furlough a number of people on 100% salary, paying careful attention to ensure we have the right resource left within the business to meet our customers’ needs. Most of our remaining teams are working from home and we have put in additional protection for those who are still at our Staffordshire HQ.
Thanks to the strength of our supply chain, plus increased hygiene, personal protection equipment (PPE) and social distancing in our warehouse, we are maintaining our Next Day Delivery promise and we have good stock of most lines.
Elsewhere in the business, our customer service teams are still working – with social distancing in place – to respond to customer orders and enquiries in a timely manner as possible.
I am so grateful to these teams for helping us to maintain good levels of service, despite the challenges the current situation provides. I am continually impressed by their resilience, agility and innovation in getting things done, which is testament to the culture at Bristan Group.
I have also been really proud that, in the last couple of weeks, we have been able to support UK frontline workers with donations of face masks. We have been ordering in quantities to protect our own people, but were able to make a couple of donations with the excess stock. More stock is on its way and again, once we have made provision for our own teams, we will donate the rest to organisations in need.
This is a very strange and challenging time indeed for all of us and it looks like we have a while yet before any kind of normality is restored. I look forward to the time when I am able to welcome back our teams safely to HQ and meet face-to-face with our valued customers. Until that day comes please, stay safe.
